Berean Baptist Church

Located in the beautiful bluffs of Galesville, WI. We are a place to grow in the Lord as we provide comfort and guidance by the Word of God.  Everyone is welcome!

Church History

Berean Baptist Church was started as a mission outreach of Temple Baptist Church in La Crosse in October of 1964.  It became formally organized on December 12, 1965.
In June of 1970 Pastor Mark Shore came to the pastorate. Through Pastor Shore’s ministry the church saw steady growth. He remained pastor until his wife and three boys were taken home to be with the Lord in 1971.
During the time following Pastor Shore we had a few short term pastors including Pastor Bledsoe. Then on Mother’s Day of 1974 Richard Hurd became pastor. In 1976, his dreams of the church having a Christian School became a reality. Berean Christian School exists to this day and has been a blessing to many families throughout its years. Pastor Hurd helped in the establishment of the Berean Christian Youth Ranch which was responsible for helping troubled teens from 1980-1988. During Pastor Hurd's years of leadership the church moved to its present location on Hwy 53. He had a great vision for the Berean Baptist Church and its surrounding community. On January 7, 2003, after more than 28 years of service as pastor of Berean Baptist Church Pastor Hurd went to be with the Lord. He is greatly missed.
The Lord greatly blessed in bringing Pastor David Kindness and his wife, Ann to us here at Berean. He and his wife were a great blessing during this time of healing . In August  of 2011 we were blessed to have Pastor Mark Stauffacher accept the position of Senior Pastor. Pastor Mark his wife Laura and  their four children are an answer to prayer.

Pastor Mark Stauffacher

I believe in the modern pluralistic society we are living in today our churches are often lacking in real answers. Many churches will leave you with a "feel good" emotion but cannot say with confidence that they are giving you the truth. At Berean Baptist Church we preach and teach the truth of God's word. When you come to our services you will find that our focus remains on the greatness of God and not on the greatness of man. In a time when people are hurting we seek to promote the Bible as the source that can heal.

Here you will find a loving congregation of bible believing Christians, old fashioned hymns being sung, and a Christ honoring church service.  We pray that you will come and enjoy our services!

Our Pastor

The Bible Way to Heaven

We care about your soul and today you can be 100% sure that you will go to Heaven! If you decide to read nothing else from our website, please take a few moments to read this page before you go. I guarantee it will be a life changing experience if, after you read it, you do what it says!

In I John 5:13 it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” In just about a minute, I can show you how you can know for sure, that if you died today, you would go to Heaven.

1. WE ARE ALL SINNERS - Who is good? Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” Who has sinned? Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

2. WHERE SIN CAME FROM - Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (The word death in this verse means Hell. In Revelation 20:14 it says, “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”)

3. GOD'S PRICE ON SIN - Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

4. OUR WAY OUT - Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

The Bible says in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9-11 says this, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Now friend the decision is up to you! You can leave this page and your life will still be the same or you can read on!

You must decide whether or not to invite Christ into your heart. “I don’t know how to talk to God!” are one of the many things I hear people say, so if you just pray this simple prayer right where you are at, and mean it in your heart, then Christ WILL SAVE YOU!

“Dear Jesus, I know that I’m a sinner and if I died now in my sin, I would go to Hell. Right now, by faith, I am trusting You as my personal Saviour and my only hope for Heaven. Thank You for dying on the cross for me and for saving me from an eternity in Hell. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

If you did this just now and meant it in your heart, won’t you please let us know either by e-mail or conventional mail and we would be happy to get you in contact with a good Bible preaching church in your area.

Thank You for your time, and I do hope and pray that this page made a difference in your life!
